Coming Soon: 流れのパターン / Patterns of Flow
The roots of generative art lie as much in Japan as they do in the West. Opening on September 25, we are thrilled to debut an exhibition celebrating the work of a new generation of Japanese artists working with code.
流れのパターン / Patterns of Flow features work by Satoshi Aizawa, Saeko Ehara, Misaki Nakano, mole^3, Okazz, Senbaku, Shunsuke Takawo, Kaoru Tanaka, Kazuhiro Tanimoto, and ykxotkx — each of whom have established their own connections with the pioneering Japanese artist Hiroshi Kawano.
Curated by Alex Estorick and Yusuke Shono, this exhibition is a collaboration with Right Click Save and Massage Magazine, and will be hosted on Feral File and at NEORT++ in downtown Tokyo. Stay tuned for updates when the exhibition goes live later this month!
Ongoing: john gerrard & Travess Smalley
Before our next exhibition opens, we want to remind you that john gerrard’s year-long crystalline work performance continues to produce gorgeous collectible archetypes. You can browse the gallery of all generated works here.
Additionally, there are still a few artworks from Travess Smalley’s CRAWL available to collect. For those who purchase multiple works, Smalley’s first-of-its-kind merge mechanism will continue to offer collectors the opportunity to generate their own unique, multi-level 1/1 artwork featuring multiple map levels from CRAWL. Pssst… we’re launching something new ✨
As an online cultural institution for software art, we are committed to developing exhibitions and tools that enable a broader public to appreciate the medium. Soon, we will launch an exciting way for a wider community to live with art, every day.
As we’re only a few weeks out from launching this new program, we invite you to stay tuned to learn more. And, once we share the news, we hope you’ll try out our new features — so keep your eyes peeled. 👀🖥️🗓️
Our app is now more secure than ever ✅
We recently completed a comprehensive security assessment of the Feral File app, thanks to a grant from the Tezos Foundation. This 500-hour audit reviewed our key management, secure storage, user interactions, and overall functionality, and resulted in a few key upgrades to our product. With these improvements, our app achieved a 94% security score — an excellent result.
Seeya, Discord 👋
If you’ve joined us on Discord, note that we will be closing down the Feral File server in mid-September. We started the server around the time of Feral File’s initial launch, and while there have been a lot of great discussions over the past few years, activity across Discord has been slowly dwindling. Closing the server will enable us to focus our efforts on building out the Feral File app, and expanding the ways people can enjoy and engage with art — including through community dialogue.
We hope you’ll keep in touch here, over email, and by following us on Twitter and Instagram. And, we’re still here to support you! If you need any assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to us: support@feralfile.com.
